The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra involves a 13–14 km uphill trek from Katra to Bhawan, making it suitable for pilgrims with moderate fitness levels. A basic level of physical endurance is recommended to comfortably complete the journey. Senior citizens, children, and pilgrims with heart disease, asthma, high blood pressure, orthopedic issues, or other medical conditions should consult their doctor before undertaking the trek. Wear comfortable walking shoes, stay hydrated, take regular breaks, and carry prescribed medications. Medical aid centers, emergency services, oxygen support, and qualified doctors are available at Katra, Banganga, Adhkuwari, Sanjichhat, and Bhawan throughout the yatra. Avoid overexertion and use the designated walking track for a safer and more comfortable pilgrimage.
